We specialize in customizing snow and ice removal equipment for heavy municipal, county, and state trucks by installing a variety of specialized equipment.

Our brand-new manufacturing and installation facility is opening in Battle Creek, Michigan (Viking-Cives Great Lakes Division).
We are the fourth division in a growing corporation with locations across the United States and Canada.
*Job Summary:* As an Engineer, you will collaborate with 2 other Engineers and your Engineering Manager to design custom parts for specialty trucks we custom build for for many municipalities.
A mindset of continuous improvement and outside the box thinking is important, as we constantly try to better ourselves in every aspect of what we do.

Responsibilities * Develop new snow and ice removal products, technologies, and efficient manufacturing and installation processes.
* Partner with the production department to increase operating efficiencies.
* Develop, train, and implement standard procedures for manufacturing and installation.
* Grow and maintain a robust work culture that is employee and customer focused.
* Lead and implement lean manufacturing and quality principles such as delivering value, eliminating waste, and continuous improvement.
* Develop, implement, and maintain part numbering and engineering standards.
* Collaborate with the Sales Team to understand our customers’ current and future needs and develop new and innovative solutions.
* Work closely with customers as needed to troubleshoot field issues, perform root cause analysis, and determine warranty claims.
* Work with our other divisions to develop new product lines and stay current on design and manufacturing considerations.
* Maintain drawings at multiple revision levels.
* Generate product specifications for customer bids.
* Assist shop employees with technical questions and equipment layouts.
* Other duties and responsibilities as required; we are a Team, and we support each other.
Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field (preferably mechanical) * 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the truck equipment industry or related industry * A proven ability to learn quickly, follow directions, ask relevant questions * Ambitious, willing to put in the extra time and attention needed to meet deadlines * A demonstrated ability to collaborate up, down, and sideways * Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and other quality methodologies is preferred.
