*Position Summary * The Process Engineer position is responsible for determining operations to produce products and develops processes to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met.
Process development of valve train assembly and components including powder metal compacting, heat treatment, machining, and process verification.
This position troubleshoots problems with production and takes corrective action.
*Key Responsibilities * · Develop processes to ensure and develop high functioning process flow.
· Responsible for supporting capital investments to maintain budget and timeline.
· Manage the production processes aspects of the business.
Establish new products and equipment to maintain and meet established delivery dates.
· Responsible to ensure KPI’s are met - safety and continuous improvement projects.
· Work with Quality to conduct Root Cause Analysis and maintain PFMEA.
· Create, update, and maintain process documentation.
· Conduct continuous improvement projects to aid production.
· Works with all departments to assume responsibility for safety issues, environmental compliance, and ongoing performance of processes.
· May participate in annual ISO14001 Audit · Assist and monitor capacity constraints and determine the need and timing for new equipment.
· Design and implement changes in process design to improve product capability, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
· Take projects from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans, and project documentation requirements.
· Support in the design of pressing tools based on customer drawings.
*Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in engineering or combination of equivalent in experience and education.
Working knowledge of Solid works or equivalent.
Proficient in MS Office and Excel.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Organized and time management skills.
*Desired Qualifications * Knowledge of IATF guidelines, powder metal experience and automotive supplier experience a plus.
Working knowledge of additive manufacturing, 6 Sigma, 5s standards, Fanuc integration, Ignition SCADA, PLC Programming.
*Physical Demands * Required to use safety glasses, safety shoes and ear protection while performing specific tasks or while in specific areas of the plant.
Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs.
Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility.
*Work Environment * Works primarily in a plant environment and occasionally in an office environment.
Exposed to any number of elements.
