This position will manage a group of drivers to become quality team members engaged in improving the workflow of processes.
This team member will perform daily tasks listed below to execute the efficient flow of product transportation piece of the supply chain.
Position will also be engaged in continuous improvement through-out the entire organization serving on teams where needed and engaging other team members to work through processes to create better efficiencies.
Team Building Maintain consistent office hours Coaching all Team Members (corrective action, SOP's, key expectations, KPI's) Recommend Positive celebrations/recognition Assist in performing hiring manger responsibilities for all non-exempt team members Manage job sharing opportunities or cross training within team members qualifications to meet dispatch schedules and build depth Investigate and resolve team member complaints and issues Be available after hours as required Perform annual team member evaluation form Production Activity Work with fleet maintenance on operational efficiencies Manage utilization of assets and oversee tractor and trailer assignment Ensure communication within systems are working and being used correctly daily (trailer log, Coretex, TMW Viewer, Yard Management System) Manage 3rd party deliveries and increase volume Analyze overall fleet profitability and implement improvements as necessary Develop business opportunities for direct shipper backhauls and local 3rd party shipments Oversee interplant and 3PL shuttle movements (Coldwater and Hatfield) Participate in daily dispatch to identify opportunities for improvement Perform Customer Complaints investigations and implement corrective actions Observe dispatch and delivery processes and ensure that all SOPs are established, followed and continually improved Monitor area KPI's for variance vs target and make corrective actions Ensure all operational materials/supplies are available Coordinate with other departments to support schedule attainment effectiveness Scheduling PTO (Paid Time Off) Update and maintain a list of opportunities/action items and follow through to completion Help in development of and achievement of department budgets Perform incident investigations as needed Maintain continuous improvement mindset when evaluating current and future business Coordinate backhaul shipments Team CFG Attend and participate in weekly meetings Participate in leadership opportunities Review personal development tools Support cross functional teams initiatives Lead weekly profitability meeting and drive departmental change Experience Required 3 year(s): to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Prior experience in customer facing positions preferred.
3 year(s): Ability to function at a high level within a team environment.
Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience.
Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where change and growth are part of the culture.
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
