Believe in the Change! Position Summary Under the direction of the Executive Director of Business and Finance, the Director of Grants, State/Federal Programs, & Adult Education shall provide leadership and is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of all Federal Programs.
The ultimate goal of the position shall be planning, organizing, directing and evaluating Federal Programs so that the District can offer the best possible educational programs and services.
In addition, The Director of Grants, State/Federal Programs, & Adult Education is responsible for implementing and maintaining the adult education programs and services in compliance with the District, State and Federal guidelines; directing the development and evaluation of adult education curricula; serving as a resource to other District personnel, the Board and other departments; and maintaining adequate staffing to ensure that objectives of programs/services are achieved within budget and comply to the District’s goals.
The position is designed to support and enhance the educational process in grades K-12 and Adult Education.
Position Responsibilities Grants and State/Federal Programs: Grant Management: Identify, research, and pursue grant opportunities from various sources, including federal, state, and private foundations.
Develop grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
Program Oversight: Oversee the implementation of state and federal programs, ensuring alignment with district goals and objectives.
Monitor program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for grants and programs, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and in compliance with grant regulations.
Monitor expenditures and financial reporting for grant-funded initiatives.
Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with district administrators, school leaders, and relevant stakeholders to integrate grant-funded programs into overall district initiatives.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure alignment and collaboration on program goals.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to grants and programs.
Prepare and submit required reports to funding agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
Grant Writing and Proposal Development: Lead the development of grant proposals, including researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
Stay informed about changes in grant guidelines and requirements.
Evaluation and Data Analysis: Establish evaluation mechanisms for grant-funded programs, including data collection and analysis.
Use data to assess program impact and make data-driven decisions for improvement.
Professional Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for district staff involved in grant-funded programs.
Stay informed about best practices and trends in grant management and educational programs.
Community Outreach: Engage with community partners, government agencies, and stakeholders to build relationships and support for grant initiatives.
Communicate the impact of grant-funded programs to the community.
Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of the district at the state and federal levels to secure additional funding opportunities.
Represent the district in relevant advocacy and policy forums.
Risk Management: Identify and address potential risks associated with grants and programs, including compliance issues and financial risks.
Implement risk mitigation strategies.
Other duties as assigned Adult Education: Program Development and Management: Develop, implement, and manage adult education programs to meet the needs of the target audience.
Design curriculum and instructional materials for adult learners.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of strategic plans for adult education, aligning programs with organizational goals.
Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in adult education initiatives.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Manage the budget for adult education programs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Allocate funds for materials, equipment, and professional development.
Staff Supervision and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise instructors and support staff.
Provide professional development opportunities for educators to enhance their skills.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal departments, community organizations, and stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
Establish partnerships with employers, community groups, and educational institutions.
Data Analysis and Evaluation: Collect and analyze data on program outcomes and participant success.
Conduct regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of adult education programs.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Technology Integration: Stay abreast of educational technologies and integrate them into adult education programs where applicable.
Foster a technology-enabled learning environment.
Counseling and Support Services: Provide guidance and support services to adult learners, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Community Outreach: Promote adult education programs within the community to increase enrollment and awareness.
Attend community events and engage with potential learners.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for continuous improvement and implement changes to enhance program quality.
Stay informed about trends and best practices in adult education.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s Degree in Education, Education Administration, or a related field and at least 5 to 7 years of experience as a teacher, with program coordination and supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Michigan Administrator or Central Office Certification Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Considerable knowledge of school law, current literature, trends, and developments in Title I Considerable knowledge of the principles of supervision, organization and administration Considerable knowledge of the grant application and administrative process Considerable knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and fiscal processes General knowledge of evaluation systems, techniques and instruments, their purpose, appropriate application and interpretation of results.
Familiarity with community organizations and businesses Excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects under various timelines Highly effective organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills SALARY: $112,909 - $117,493 (Commensurate with experience) CONTRACT: 261 Days (12 Month Calendar) SCHOOL SAFETY CLEARANCE: The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment.
