Beer Enthusiast | Taproom Shift Lead

*Job Title: Beer Enthusiast Taproom | Experienced Shift Lead* Handmap Brewing is hiring! We are looking for team members who are committed to creating a unique and memorable experience for each of our customers.
The tap room team member is the first brewery representative that our guests meet.
We are looking for someone who has experience leading people and taking charge of the shift.
You MUST have a passion and knowledge of craft beer, like people and provide excellent service! The perfect fit for us will go the extra mile in both ability and desire.
More than a server, we are looking for a trusting team member that can contribute to our long-term success.
We are looking for a dynamic person that is interested in building our brewery to be the best it can be! *Principal Duties and Responsibilities:* * Report to taproom manager * Assist in making sure all taproom SOPs and Company policies are followed * Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service * Effectively suggest and describe beer to customers * Maintain a clean taproom * Engage in the creative process of implementing events, ideas or concepts that will enhance the taproom experience * Maintain a safe, healthy and sustainable tap room environment for co-workers and guests * Possess a valid TIPS certification or acquire one before hire * Process orders and payments on our Toast POS system and generate sales reports *Job Specification:* * Skill and Knowledge * Knowledge of and passion for craft beer and the brewing industry * Strong verbal and written communication * Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system (Toast) * At least 2 years of experience as waiter or server * Personal Competencies * Excellent customer service skills * Communicate effectively with customers, management and co-workers * Ability to remain calm under pressure * Be a strong and trusting team player * Other * Ability to work weekends, evenings, holidays and special events * Work in standing position for long periods of time Handmap Brewing is a growing brewery located in downtown Battle Creek Michigan.
As such, any position with our company will require the applicant to be flexible in work duties performed.
