About This Role Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers.
The Post Harvest Director will Responsibilities Outlined below is what we see you doing at this point in time.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: Assuring work tasks within their assigned Value Stream are executed per the Production Schedule and Standard Work with high degree of Safety, Quality and Regulatory Compliance Facilitate and then Coach Tier Huddles and drive our CC Lean Management System of Visual Controls (i.
e.
, Production Boards, Visual Management, K-Cards, etc.
) Lead Lean Kaizen events, Strategic A3’s and drive Safety, Quality and Productivity Improvements Accountable for Safety, Quality, Schedule Attainment, Citizen Engagement and Productivity Improvements year over year Act as Subject Matter Expert with respect to Post-Harvest systems and Leadership Development of staff.
Be the primary customer liaison for Operations managing communications with Sales Support New Product Development and Commercialization and own BOM’s and Routes In terms of Post-Harvest Production duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for overall throughput and quality of Trimmed and Packaged Products Managing raw and WIP materials with high degree of accuracy Assuring all cannabis products are free from contamination risk at all stages; from post-destem to fulfillment Lead adherence to our Quality System so that processes and product quality adhere to company and compliance standards Maintaining a 5S system, Visual Management and assure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation Motivate the Team and coach leaders and Citizens on proper Standard Work, Leader Standard Work and execution of tasks per the Production Schedule With respect to Lean Operations related management, including but not limited to: Manage on time post-harvest labor activities: inventory transactions, trimming, pre-rolling packaging and machine operating standards and visual management Assure Citizens complete all proper data entry recording in our systems Motivate the Team and coach Citizens to Win the Day, Win the Week Team mentoring and coaching, including but not limited to: Collaboratively leading and constantly Improving our standard work towards the highest quality Ensuring team compliance with both our Standard Work procedures and government rules & regulations Working collectively and respectfully with the other leaders and act as Champion of Common Citizen’s company culture Assure management systems governing the Team are Lean: including, scheduling, task management and assignment, productivity tracking and workflow optimization, and inter-department communication Helping the cultivation team grow and develop our Citizens through Lean Policy Promotion and required Lean skills with hands-on career discussions and planning The Experience You Bring and the Skills we Need: Problem solving skills.
Four Year College Degree preferred.
Seven Years’ management experience in agricultural, pharmaceutical, or cannabis industry may be considered in lieu of degree.
Excellent communication and documentation skills using MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Advanced Excel knowledge utilizing advanced formulas, conditional formatting, and multiple spreadsheet calculations.
Automated packaging experience required with cannabis automation experience preferred.
Experience using Lean Tools such as loading diagrams, cycle times, and line balance studies.
Experience with implementing standard work to improve efficiency and minimize waste.
Must be a self-starter who drives the team to achieve production targets within set timelines.
Experience with cannabis track-and-trace software such as Leaf Logix, MJ Freeway, or METRC is a plus.
Efficient production work leadership with application of Lean Tools and Problem-Solving skills to root-cause correct daily cultivation/production issues.
Knowledge of post-harvest diseases, mildew, mold, as well as remediation processes and options.
Must be a Team Player who drives accountability, is proactive, with a strong attention to detail.
This is a dynamic team, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast-paced and lively work environment.
Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment (tolerance of heat & humidity).
