Position Summary
The Allied Health Student Success Coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students to increase student retention, success and completion.
They also assist students with goal setting and provide continuous communication and follow-up with both the student and classroom instructor, to maximize goal attainment.
The Success Coach also monitors the progress of students and provides the encouragement and support necessary to enable students to successfully complete their health courses and prepare for their credentialing/licensing examination.
The Success Coach supports allied health program curriculum and student success committee efforts to infuse instruction with success strategies.
Kellogg Community College is located in Battle Creek, Michigan, a community of approximately 54,000 people.

Located along the I-94 interstate, Battle Creek is within 30 minutes of Kalamazoo, 60 minutes of Lansing and Grand Rapids and within three hours of Detroit, Chicago and Indianapolis.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues.
Travel by car required.
The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds).
Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration.
Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in an Allied Health Program and current credentials for area of expertise required from an accredited college or university
Strong knowledge with test-taking strategies
Demonstrated experience and/or knowledge with creating, monitoring and maintaining a success plan
Excellent customer service skills
Experience working with a diverse population
Preferred but not Required
Bachelor’s degree with current credentials in allied health field in area of expertise from an accredited college or university
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinical education setting
Proposed Salary $23.
33/hour

Job Duties
Essential Function STUDENT SUCCESS
Description
Build rapport and trust with students to support successful goal completion; assist students with identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles and setting goals for success.
Collaborate with allied health faculty to problem-solve issues related to a student’s academic progress and delivery of lessons and learning activities, to include test-taking strategies.
Develop, monitor, and maintain individually-developed student success plans, to provide continuous collaboration with the student and instructor, on progress toward completion of goals in the plan.
Maintain accurate, organized, completed, and detailed records; develop and maintain reports as required or assigned.
Refer students to Center for Student Success, Student Services, Financial Aid, Counseling Services and Scholarship Foundation Offices for assistance, if needed.
