Job summary Eaton Enterprise Center of Excellence is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist, someone who is detailed-oriented and passionate about making a difference.
Our candidate will be working primarily with Eaton’s Industrial Sector Aerospace division but will have the opportunity to support other sectors within Eaton developing new products for automotive and electrical industries.
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for defining, revising, and maintaining engineering processes.
These processes incorporate best practices intended to identify defects early in development and ensure customer requirements are achieved.
The Quality Assurance Specialist will work with project teams to apply processes on projects and mentor project teams as needed.
The Quality Assurance Specialist will also assess processes, audit work products and work with project teams to develop a plan to close non-compliances.
Our candidate needs to have demonstrated capability to mentor and influence others to be successful, but also the ability to recognize when help is needed to achieve quality objectives.
Strong communication skills are a must to work with multi-disciplined engineering projects.
The preferred candidate will have working knowledge in achieving the quality objectives defined in many of the Aerospace industry standards such as DO-178, DO-254, DO-330, DO-331 and/or ARP 4754.
The preferred candidate must also be proficient with current embedded systems development methodologies, tools and practices, processes and capable to transfer best practices across projects and businesses.
What you’ll do: Essential Responsibilities: • Provide tactical and strategical Quality Assurance and certification direction to engineering teams in line with organizational objectives and industry recognized standards.
• Accountable for quality of deliverables related to System Engineering and Embedded Systems (Inc HW and SW) primarily for Aerospace Products in line with ARP 4754, DO178C, DO254 DAL Level A/B/C/D/E conforming to required standards as per FAA/EASA and to any customer specific requirements.
• Liaison and work as interface between Eaton and DER on approach adopted by engineering team and various other certification activities i.
e.
, logistics and methodology; Look for opportunities to expand/grow business.
Build Customer relations, Influence, negotiate to set realistic expectations with customers.
• Influence and drive people / activities on complex process issues.
Build Organizational capability assessment for the group.
Champion and drive for the certification roadmap.
Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design solutions in line with present and future business needs.
Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders.
• Accountable for driving action plans to close non-conformances found during project audits.
• Monitors and identifies quality defect trends at the project and organization level, lead root cause and permanent corrective action to address defect trends.
• Monitors performance and quality coming from engineering suppliers.
• Supports supplier process assessments during supplier selection activities.
• Acts as an organizational contact for customer quality concerns and ensure appropriate corrective actions are deployed.
• Supports business level Quality Management System audits like AS9100 on-behalf of engineering.
• Contributes to and leads when appropriate defining efficient practices and methods that assists the engineering community in achieving process objectives.
• Defines, revises, and maintains standard engineering process definitions.
Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution • Minimum seven (7) years of experience working in new product development developing products that include embedded software in safety critical applications OR leading process improvement initiatives in airborne complex programs in line with industry standards.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience/knowledge leading Quality Process Assurance activities in airborne complex programs in line with industry standards.
